#6 On VLCD

Well, no pictures of my meals today. I had to work late - till 7:40pm, and was WAY too hungry to take the time to take a picture. I ate it as it was ready!!!

I had some chicken and celery. I ate my orange around 1pm, while chatting with my boss at lunch.

I did much better on my water intake though today. Drank a good 6-20oz bottles. And several cups of coffee. I should be good. 

I was such a good girl... I took my residents to a "Waffle Feed" at the senior center tonight. Gawd those waffles looked good! Everyone was telling me I should eat! Of course, I wasn't gonna tell them... "no.. I'm on a diet". So I told them I had arrangements for dinner later that I had to keep. ;-)

I am pooped, and a nice glass of wine sounds wonderful!
Damn. It's no fun being good! lol

I'm really wanting to see myself under 200lbs by the end of the week. I think I can do it! 

#6 On VLCD Weight No gain/loss

(Update below)
Well, was a little disappointed this morning when I weighed. 
Looks like I gained 1.5lbs. 
However, after reading some other peoples experiences, I'm right on track, and should expect no loss days and a few gain days due to what you eat and drink.
However, looking over what I ate, I don't think that would have done it. HOWEVER, what I DRANK or didn't drink could have!

I know I didn't drink as much water as I have been... At work I forget to drink, unless I'm at the lunch table, and then the only thing I drink is coffee! Old habits are hard to break!
Today I drive the bus - taking residents to their doctors appointments and shopping trips.  By hell, I'm gonna drink more water, even if I have to pee at Wal-mart!

Good lesson... 

One thing I have noticed... More energy! :)

So, after I "went" and showered this morning, I weighed again. No gain, no loss... still 204.5. I'm fine with that! :) However... You bet I'm gonna be drinking MORE WATER!

Tabasco Shrimp with Lemony Cukes and Fresh Strawberries

Tabasco Shrimp with Lemony Cukes and Fresh Strawberries

I wasn't sure this meal was going even cut my hunger. 
Again, I waited too long to eat and was starving.
Many temptations as I cooked my son's hamburger
And as I smelled my wonderful "bestie" Lola cook her meal too.
However, by the time I finished my last strawberry, I knew I couldn't eat another bite! Success! I haven't been hungry or craving anything all night...and it's a late 11pm. 

The shrimp was sauteed in a touch of white cooking wine.
(seems to be a favorite of mine for moisture and light flavor)  
I threw on a little garlic and granulated onion, salt and pepper.
Once cooked, which was pretty quick (5 min on medium heat), I sprinkled on the Tabasco. It was perfect!

Cucumbers: I sliced and covered in fresh lemon juice and salt. For visual and a little flavor, I sprinkled on some parsley.

Strawberries were the hardest to prepare by far!! ;) 

Green tea with the rest of my lemon juice.

Ohh so tasty and so filling! I loved the fresh aspect... not only of this meal, but about the meal plan itself on the VLCD.

One thing that I really think helps is keeping the plate of food looking good. Keep different colors on the palate. Vary the styles of food. I just hope these pictures and ideas can help someone even if they aren't going on the actual Hcg diet. 
My meals are quick and easy. I haven't been in the kitchen longer than 15 minutes cooking - at the most 20. 

PRETTY SIMPLE!!

And no... I don't use recipes ... 
I'm more of a dip and pour type of cook! :P


#5 Day on VLCD - March 14, 2011

Felt weak this morning, but wasn't STARVING. I should have eaten sooner than 12:30pm. I'll know better tomorrow and take my lunch break more around 10:30-11am.

Had a headache this afternoon - so I ate an apple. Seemed to do the trick, probably just low blood sugar. My body is NOT used to not having a constant supply of sugars fed to it!


#5 Day on VLCD - March 14, 2011


Day 5 lost 2.5lbs! Now down to 204.5!! EEK, I can see me below the 200lbs mark VERY SOON! :)

Again, I can feel a difference in my face and arms. A little today in my tummy.

Today will be my first day at work while on  the VLCD. I have packed my lunch - since pretty much everything that the chef cooks is out of my calorie range. (I work at a retirement home).
I will post pictures later!

Sunday Dinner - March 13, 2011


Lemon & Dill Tilapia, Asparagus and 1/2 Apple.

I bought the frozen Tilapia, which each fillet is around 2.5-4oz.
Soak the bag in hot water for about 5 minutes to dethaw.
Put a little white cooking wine in the medium heat pan.
Placed the fish in and quickly seasoned with dill, salt, pepper and topped it off with about 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice.

Put a lid on it and let it cook for about 5 minutes.

While the fish was cooking, my asparagus was steaming in a frying pan in water with salt, pepper and garlic mences. 
I steam my asparagus just past raw about 5-6 minutes on medium heat -- I like it a little crisp not mushy, and most definitely like the bright GREEN on my plate! 

My drink was a green tea with a touch of lemon - 
and of course some Stevia.

Ohhhh SOOO TASTY!
My son actually stole part of my fish, and requested I make him more for his dinner. I was actually so full anyways, I didn't mind if he took the last few bites. 
I probably couldn't have eaten it anyways!



Drinking Enough Water




3.5 of these 20oz water bottles
are the recommended water amount for 
this HCG diet. 

I tend to drink WAY more than required, however. 
I have been drinking about 5-6 of these, plus my coffee & tea. 

Drinking tea & coffee between the meals helps keep the tummy working, thus not feeling so hungry! 


Plus it really helps with elimination (pooping)... If you haven't gone potty on a regular basis, the Cascara Sagrada tea or pills can help. 
Take them at night, so you're ready to "go" by morning!

Sunday Brunch - March 13th 2011

Eggs with sauteed onions topped with Tabasco, Tapatio, and some chives 
(Salt and pepper to taste).
I sliced an orange and made a cup of coffee with Stevia. 

This meal was very filling, (I even gave my son several of my orange slices for his brunch)

(I have always been a cream and sugar drinker with my coffee - 
so this black coffee has been hard to get used to!) 
I do appreciate my 1 Tablespoon of milk though in my first cup of coffee in the morning! :) The Stevia taste is getting a little better.

I bought this scale yesterday.
It said a solid 210 lbs 

I can "feel" the weight loss in my face and 
arms for some reason. 
So far 8.5lbs gone in just 4 days!

These are results that will keep me on this diet, for sure.

Day #3 - #1 of VLCD

Weighed myself around 2pm on March 12 on a new scale. 210lbs.  I have had 2 cups of coffee. One with just 3 packs of stevia and one with 3 packs of stevia and 1T milk.

For lunch I had 3 oz of white fish with only salt and some light seasonings.... I poured about a teaspoon of white cooking wine on it. Very tasty!

It's 3pm and I am starving. I really need to go get some veggies to munch on!

Well, figured out why I'm so hungry. I've only eaten 86 calories! I'm so afraid of eating too much, I haven't eaten enough! Good to know! :)



First official meal on my HCG diet. This meal is around 200 calories. :)

Spinach with about 2 Large strawberries with 3.5oz of chicken breast

The Chicken was (all fat trimmed) simmered in 1 teaspoon of white cooking wine along with garlic, pepper, salt & onion seasonings.

It was topped with 2 Tablespoons of "Walden Farms" - Calorie Free Balsamic Vinaigrette!

It was VERY tasty!
Started, Thursday March 10th.

10x 3x a day hCG w/amino Boost

Today I am suppose to eat a ton of fat and drink lots of water. I didn't do so good with the fat content.

Breakfast:
I had a 14oz cup of coffee with 4 tablespoons of sugar/splenda (which I understand is not to be used while on the diet).

Around 10:30am I had about 3 cups of high butter popcorn.

For lunch I had 1 6oz cup of coffee without cream or sugar. 1 little sweet pickle. And an egg salad sandwich on wheat bread.

I drank 4 16oz glasses of water this morning. 2 This afternoon before supper.

Two more 12 ounce glasses after work. Will be drinking more by bed.

For dinner I had 2 cheese and turkey wrapped in a tortillas. Then about a 1/2 a cup of dry roasted sunflower seeds. 1/4 cup has 130 fat calories.

I'll try to eat some more fatty stuff... but I am having a really hard time eating!!
 
I weighed myself at work. 215.5 lbs. Yuck.
